Plants thrive in guilds, and so do humans!

During this pandemic I have witnessed so many people that live by themselves fall into a rut of loneliness and boredom, and though this is a sad truth, it is not surprising. Us humans are social beings; Confinement and isolation have tremendous detrimental repercussions on our well-being.

I need a lot of personal space, and I appreciate solitude deeply but, living in community has also been crucial during this time; knowing my neighbors, and being able to reach out and (safely) share moments together, has been a blessing.

Just like in a garden that is designed using permaculture principles of interconnectedness, where plants are grouped in a way where they can sustain each other, we are meant to coexist, share skills and resources; It is our nature to do this!

We are the designers of our life, and tuning into our natural instinct to thrive, we come together in ways that brings us joy, as well as providing invaluable, challenging lessons for growth; IMO, that’s what life is all about!

Let us bloom the little gardens that we are, my friends.

Sending much love for this Spring season to you.
